Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Effective Date: January 1, 2025 · Last Updated: January 1, 2025

1. Your Rights Under California Law

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives California residents the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information. Under the CCPA, "sale" is broadly defined to include sharing personal information with third parties in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration, and "sharing" includes making personal information available to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

ShieldHome Pro ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy rights. This page explains what information we may share, with whom, and how you can exercise your right to opt out.

2. What Personal Information We Collect & Share

In the course of operating our website at shieldhome.pro, we collect and may share the following categories of personal information:

The sharing of data with advertising platforms like Meta and Google through tracking pixels and cookies may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA, as it involves making data available to third parties for targeted advertising purposes.

3. How to Opt Out

You have several ways to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information:

Option A: Email Us Directly

Send an email to support@shieldhome.pro with the subject line "Do Not Sell My Personal Information." Please include your full name and the email address and/or phone number you submitted on our Site so we can locate your records.

Option B: Manage Cookie & Tracking Preferences

You can limit data sharing with advertising platforms by taking the following steps:

  • Browser Settings: Disable third-party cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser's built-in tracking protection features.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor GPC signals as a valid opt-out request under the CCPA.
  • Ad Industry Opt-Out: Visit optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
  • Platform-Specific Controls: Adjust your ad preferences directly in your Facebook Ad Settings and Google Ad Settings.

4. Verification Process

When you submit an opt-out request, we need to verify your identity to ensure we are acting on a legitimate request and protecting your data from unauthorized access. Our verification process is as follows:

  • Email Verification: We will send a confirmation email to the address you provide. You must respond to or click the verification link in that email to confirm your request.
  • Information Matching: We will match the information you provide (name, email, phone number) against the records we have on file to confirm your identity.
  • Authorized Agents: If an authorized agent is submitting a request on your behalf, we may require written proof of authorization (such as a power of attorney) and will still verify your identity directly.

We will process verified requests within 15 business days. We will not charge you a fee or penalize you in any way for exercising your opt-out rights.

5. What Happens After You Opt Out

Once we process your verified opt-out request:

  • We will stop sharing your personal information with advertising platforms (Meta, Google) for targeted advertising purposes going forward.
  • We will suppress your data from future audience uploads and custom audience lists used for advertising.
  • If you previously submitted a quote request, your lead information may have already been shared with Vivint Smart Home for service fulfillment. This sharing is necessary to complete the transaction you initiated and is exempt from the CCPA's opt-out requirement. To manage communications from Vivint directly, please contact Vivint Smart Home at vivint.com.
  • You may still see general (non-targeted) advertisements from us on third-party platforms.
  • Opting out does not delete your personal information. To request deletion, please email support@shieldhome.pro with the subject line "Delete My Personal Information."

6. Additional CCPA Rights

In addition to the right to opt out of sale/sharing, California residents have the following rights under the CCPA:

  • Right to Know: You can request a report of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, the sources, the business purposes, and the third parties with whom we shared it.
  • Right to Delete: You can request that we delete the personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions (such as information needed to complete a transaction or comply with legal obligations).
  • Right to Correct: You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information: If we collect sensitive personal information (we generally do not), you have the right to limit how we use it.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. You will not receive different pricing, quality of service, or access based on your privacy choices.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@shieldhome.pro. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days, as required by law.

7. CCPA Request Metrics

As required by the CCPA, we will publish annual metrics regarding the number of requests to know, delete, and opt out that we receive, and how we responded to them. These metrics will be updated on this page annually.
